It’s been an interesting week on Twitter. We kicked things off with a bit of back-and-forth banter between self-described Twitter troll Deadmau5 and our own Alison Wonderland and then there was the little case of she who shall not be named.

To bookend the week nicely, we thought we might highlight a recent feud that kicked off in the world of EDM, which seems to be ripe territory for Twitter controversy, though granted most of it is Deadmau5’s fault.

So what’s the latest issue that’s got the worlds DJs and producers up in arms? Well, French chart-beater DJ Snake has a bone to pick with fellow EDM superstar David Guetta. Apparently, Snake reckons Guetta has been jacking his steez.

Fellow Frenchman Guetta recently produced an anthem for the Euro 2016 football tournament (that’s soccer for those of you who are like that) titled ‘This One’s For You’, a collaboration with rising Scandinavian star Zara Larsson.

However, Snake has taken umbrage at the fact that his countryman’s new football soccer anthem sounds, at least to him, a lot like ‘Lean On’, the hit collaboration he produced with Major Lazer and MØ.

As Pulse Radio notes, Snake dissed Guetta’s track as “horrible” and labelled it a “fake ‘Lean On’”. To be frank, whilst the track doesn’t sound like ‘Lean On’ melodically, it does have some elements in common with the song.

In fact, if you told us this was the latest Major Lazer joint, we’d have no reason to doubt you.

Anyhow, eventually the brewing feud caught the attention of the Major Lazer chief himself, Diplo, who concurred with his collaborator, adding, “U right DJ Snake I hope the kids realize we always try to innovate and it’s easy for David Guetta to do whatever in a quest for relevancy.”
