Melbourne’s beloved former two-piece King of the North are officially going global after signing to German indie label Rodeostar Records, which will see their forthcoming new album released simultaneously in 22 countries around the world.

As we reported earlier this month, guitarist and singer Andrew Higgs recently took to Facebook to reveal that his longtime partner in crime, drummer Danny Leo, has left the band. As a result, Higgsy is currently on the lookout for a new drummer.

“As most know, King Of The North has finished recording a new album to be released very soon,” he wrote. “There are also epic tours booked for 2016. So, auditions for a new beast to sit at the stool have already started.”

“The auditions will continue for another few weeks before I announce who the lucky mofo is, that will be touring this great new album across 10 countries with me this year!” Higgsy wrote. “I thank everyone in advance for their support and understanding.”

Indeed, Higgsy is showing no sign of slowing down the King of the North freight train, revealing via Facebook, “I am super stoked to announce that King Of The North has just signed with German indie label Rodeostar Records.”

“KOTN is the second Aussie band to be signed with the label in the last six months, the first being Dead Letter Circus. Rodeostar has a solid roster of great bands and I am delighted to be working with them.”

“It means that KOTN’s upcoming album entitled Get Out Of Your World will be released simultaneously in 22 countries around the world on Friday the 5th August 2016. This is a career highlight for KOTN so far…”

Higgsy ends the missive by promising the band will be hitting the road nationally and internationally soon to play out the new record and christen his new bandmate. Keep an eye out for those dates and the new album in the coming month.
