Rage Against The Machine are planning on announcing something big. What that is, we don’t yet officially know. However, we did find out this morning that it won’t be a full-on Rage reunion, the kind we’ve been praying for since 2011.

Now, a Billboard source has apparently leaked the whole thing. According to the unidentified source, three quarters of Rage, minus frontman Zack de la Rocha, are joining forces with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real.

This supergroup will be dubbed Prophets of Rage, named after the Public Enemy song of the same name. According to the source, this supergroup will perform songs by all three bands, with a debut set for the Hollywood Palladium on 3rd June.

A show is also planned for LA’s Whisky a Go Go and there may even be plans for a full tour in the works. A source previously told Rolling Stone that live shows were on the cards, but it’s not yet clear “whether that’s one show, or five shows”.

Rumours began with a mysterious website, prophetsofrage.com, which contains a countdown timer set to conclude at the end of this month and warning fans, “Clear the way for the Prophets of Rage. The party’s over summer 2016.”

The page featured very Rage-esque artwork and some astute Los Angeles citizens noticed posters featuring the graphic popping up around the band’s hometown, convincing everyone that the rockers were finally returning.
