Port Hedland, a Western Australian town located more than a thousand miles outside of Perth, is best known for being rich in natural resources and as the site of the highest tonnage port in Australia.
But you may be interested to know it’s also the location of one of Australia’s coolest music festivals, North West Festival, whose organisers have just unveiled a jam-packed lineup for their 2016 instalment.
Headlined by triple j Hottest 100 winners The Rubens, North West Festival 2016 will also feature performances from the likes of You Am I, Xavier Rudd, Sarah Blasko, The Veronicas, ShockOne, Urthboy, and more.
It just goes to show that there is still a vibrant music festival scene happening in Australia if you know where to look. In this case, you should look to a relatively little-known town tucked away in northern WA.
