triple j has cultivated a very friendly relationship with the world of pop in recent years. Just look at their most recent playlists and you’ll find names like Drake, Kanye West, Halsey, and yes, even Beyonce.

So it’s little surprise that this morning’s Like A Version, which came courtesy of homegrown producer Paces and our Australian Idol Guy Sebastian, has been getting nothing but rave reviews from triple j listeners.

The duo performed a cover of ‘Keeping Score’ by Sydney electronic favourite LDRU, with Paces taking care of beat duties and the pop chart-topper providing some absolutely killer vocals and manning the keyboards.

As the Herald Sun reports, Paces and Sebastian have been busy in the studio together working on Sebastian’s new album, after the singer, who’d been a fan for years, personally reached out to the Gold Coast producer.

When triple j invited Paces into the studio for Like A Version, he figured there’s no one better to provide the vocals than his new collaborator. And the word from fans across social media has so far been overwhelmingly positive.

As we’ve previously noted, this year’s Like A Version series has gotten off to an interesting start – we’ve seen a heart-wrenching David Bowie cover, an ambitious mash-up from this year’s Hottest 100 winners, a deeply divisive cover of a huge hit from 2015, and a cover that showed us what Like A Version is meant to be.
