Melbourne six-piece have announced they will call it a day after one final farewell performance. In a statement to fans, the band insisted there was no animosity surrounding their break-up and they have simply reached their natural conclusion as a band.

“Today with much difficulty and sadness we announce our last show as Lurch and Chief,” the band wrote. “As all journeys go through their ups and downs, which we’ve had more than our fair share of, they must eventually come to an end and for us as a collective we feel that we can’t give any more and have reached this point.”

“It’s challenging to express in words how grateful we are to all of those who have come to our shows, shared experiences to our music and just given time to our sounds and to us as people. Without you guys none of what we’ve achieved would have been possible.”

“So for one last time we invite you all to share with us in a final goodbye and thankyou show at the Corner on the 1st of July.” Fans can come and enjoy the band share a stage for one last time on Friday, 1st July, with tickets available now.

“We go forward as the closest of friends, which nothing will ever change, and although some of us leaving the musical sphere for other paths, we want everyone to know that this isn’t the last you will hear from some us as musicians and we are very excited to embrace your ears in the future.”
