Currently based in Adelaide, one of this country’s most exciting upcoming MCs Godfrey (aka Godfrey Agala) is today releasing his brand new mixtape Freshman Year.

Drawing inspirations from heavyweight hip hop icons like Wiz Khalifa, 360, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and A$AP Rocky, the young Kenya born talent melds old school hip hop ethos with new more progressive sounds.

Traversing the worlds of trap, cloud rap and classic hip hop production in this 12 track release, Freshman Year is a proper statement, it’s Godfrey making his mark on the Aussie hip hop landscape.

As Godfrey explains: “This mixtape Is about me letting listeners  know who I am and what goes on in my life. I really wanted to capture every aspect of my life in this one from deep and personal issues to just having fun and trying to prove myself to the Australian music industry”.

Having fought his way around the battle circuit and having dropped solid mixtapes since 2011, he’s earned his title as new talent to watch. Check out the Freshman Year mixtape below and stay locked to Godfrey’s Soundcloud for new tracks.
