What started as a set of dismal circumstances has turned out to be the “best tour ever” for Australian rockers Dallas Frasca, whose recent European jaunt kicked off with an airline losing their equipment.

As we reported last month, the Melbourne outfit landed in Paris only to find that Etihad Airways had lost drummer Josh’s cymbals and snare (worth over $4,000) plus a tonne of merch packed inside the snare case.

The band were forced to wait for days until the issue was resolved, all the while rallying support via social media and keeping fans updated. It turned out the gear had somehow been sent to Africa.

With the tour now complete, the band have revealed they no longer have beef with Etihad, who not only issued an official apology when the band was still in Europe, but left them a special VIP gift in Abu Dhabi.

“So sometimes there are really good endings to stories and this is one of them,” they write on Facebook. “In Berlin we received a lovely official apology from Etihad which we were more than happy with.”

“Then when we arrived in Abu Dhabi we were greeted at the bottom of the stairs on the tarmac by an official [from] Etihad holding a ‘Dallas Frasca’ sign, we then got escorted in a Cadillac to our gate and then advised we had a very special business upgrade.”

Business class on Etihad? Pretty sweet. “What a way to come home. We are extremely grateful and never expected to get this kind of result. So thank you to everyone for their support. We accept your apology Etihad.”

“To top it off, we made history as passengers on the first ever Airbus A380 (worlds biggest passenger plane) to land in Melb. Good to be home Australia.” Dallas Frasca will be performing as part of Whole Lotta Love this August.
