Rock fans of the world rejoice, Queens of the Stone Age are back at it again. Their last album came out three long years ago in the form of …Like Clockwork, which was hailed by critics as the band’s best and most mature album to date.

Speaking recently to the Let There Be Talk podcast, frontman and songwriter Josh Homme, who’s just completed a tour with Iggy Pop to promote their collaborative record, said a QOTSA regrouping was the next thing on his agenda.

“Yeah, [a QOTSA return is up next on my schedule],” Homme told the podcast. “Same lineup, we’re locked in. We’re having a meeting tomorrow about what we’re gonna do.” Presumably, Homme is referring to the lineup of …Like Clockwork.

The players on the album included band staple Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar and synths, Dean Fertita on keyboards and guitar, and Michael Shuman on bass guitar, with several drummers contributing to the LP, including Jon Theodore, who toured the album.

The last update we heard from the band was last March when Shuman said the band had no plans: “There will be future stuff with Queens, we’re just taking a break since we had long, long two years of touring. We’ll take a break to do other stuff.”
