The good folks at Noisey, Vice‘s music branch, recently tested out their first ever live TV production and they dove head first into the deep end by doing it at New York’s Governors Ball music festival.

Things were going pretty well until The Strokes, being the rock stars that they are, took a little longer than anticipated to take the stage. This forced Noisey to fill in time well after they’d exhausted all their material.

What ensued was, in Noisey’s own words, “the best kind of disaster“. It started with the host awkwardly excusing herself from talking head status and passing the mic to an intern, who continued the relay by handing the mic to Noisey‘s editor-in-chief.

This “murderer’s row of on-screen talent” (tongue firmly in cheek there), managed to fill the time until Julian Casablancas and co took the stage, but boy was it a rough ride to get there. Check out the carnage below.
