There’s few journalists out there with enough integrity to ask the tough questions these days, but Piper from Kids Interview Bands, who it should be noted is only in Year 5, gave a good grilling to homegrown hero Courtney Barnett.

The Melbourne singer and songwriter is tearing it up across North America at the moment, ahead of an appearance at Splendour In The Grass, and sat down with Piper during a stop in Ohio so we could find out how often people ask her to make origami.

Apparently, some of the singer’s (presumably American) fans have taken to throwing origami made out of $1 notes on stage as she performs. Barnett also revealed that she’s more of a hugger than a “handshaker, high-fiver or a fist-bumper”.

The intrepid Piper also questioned Barnett about which band’s work she would perform for the rest of her career if she was no longer allowed to perform her own work. According to Barnett, she’d be pretty happy performing the work of The Go-Betweens each night.

It’s not the first time an Aussie band has been asked the tough questions by Kids Interview Bands. As we previously reported, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker revealed he’s a big fan of the show during his own interview and Vance Joy got the KIB treatment last year.
