Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars are one of the most famous pieces of fashion in the music world. Beloved by everyone from Kurt Cobain to Julian Casablancas, the shoes appear in countless iconic music photos.

But an American creative agency has now brought Chuck Taylors and music together in a very visceral and tangible way, crafting a pair of the famous shoes that work as a fully functional wah pedal.

As Consequence of Sound reports, Critical Mass first conceived of the wah pedal Chucks during a 2013 Chuck Hack event, installing the bits and bobs that make a wah pedal work into a white pair of Converse.

But as CoS note, fashion brand CuteCircuit took things to the next level by removing the leads and making a pair of wah pedal Chucks that are entirely wireless and powered by Bluetooth.

Basically, you move the heel of your foot up and down (we can feel the repetitive strain injury already) and a sensor inside the sole of the shoe transmits the movements to a wireless wah box as you play the connected guitar.

You can check out a preview video of Critical Mass’s prototype below. Meanwhile, CuteCircuit’s product, which they’ve called the ‘All Wah’, does not have a mass market release date, but we are so buying a pair.
