The Sad Grrrls Fest lineups for this year were recently announced and they just got even bigger. Having already confirmed the likes of Jaala, Jess Ribeiro, Camp Cope, and more, punters will now see sets from Alex Lahey and Rin McArdle.

With three stages, market stalls, food, and DJs, this year’s events will build upon the success of last year’s tour and Sydney festival, keeping the focus on local talent in each city, with a diverse range of acts running the gamut of genres.

As event organiser Rachel Maria Cox notes, one of the biggest successes of last year’s events was “not only that women and non-binary people felt comfortable being on stage, but that we implemented safer spaces policies to help the audience feel safe as well”.

“Sad Grrrls Fest is as much about the audience as it is the people up on stage. Music needs to be safe and inclusive for people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, religions and socio-economic status if we want to really make meaningful change to representation by the numbers.”
