Daniel Johns has added another contribution to his rapidly expanding solo career output, linking up with Sydney singer, multi-instrumentalist, and harpist Jake Meadows for the Good Company EP.
Johns and Meadows have been collaborating for years and Meadows was a staple member of Johns’s band during his most recent solo live shows, including Johns’s widely acclaimed performance at Sydney’s Vivid Live.
“Daniel and I have been friends for years and he’s always helped me find inspiration. We’ve always worked well together, on different projects, and this collaboration happened really organically,” said Meadows.
“I showed him the tracks I had been working on for the EP, and he offered to produce and be a part of the project, and we just went for it.” The EP, which you can check out in full via Billboard has a host of other collabs.
In addition to the core partnership between Johns and Meadows, the duo enlisted the help of band member J4, Eric J (Flight Facilities, Chet Faker), and Chris Townsend (Portishead, D12, Augie March, The Presets and Silverchair) to mix the EP.
The EP will first be available through an exclusive Spotify stream and will see an official release on 8th July. We’ve already had a listen and can tell you the EP more than makes good on the promise of last year’s Talk.
