The jury’s still out on phones at gigs. The curmudgeon set hate them, as well as many artists, but others think it’s simply life in 2016 or even see them as a marketing opportunity for the acts on stage.

Well, Slipknot don’t need the marketing and they certainly don’t want you to have your phone out. Corey Taylor (who is admittedly a bit of a curmudgeon) recently proved as much during a performance.

Taylor was mid-song when he noticed a hapless punter in the front row brandishing his phone (probably searching for a Zubat on Pokemon Go) and proceeded to give him a little Dirty Harry-like gig justice.

However, the fan and those of his ilk may not be long for this world. As Tone Deaf recently reported, Apple have patented a technology that could make it impossible to take photos or video at gigs.
