We’ve known about Arctic Monkeys and Last Shadow Puppets frontman Alex Turner’s man-crush on Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for some time. In addition to covering the Perth native’s songs, he was spotted rocking out to Tame Impala at Glastonbury.

And as we recently reported, Turner even improvised a song about Tame Impala whilst on stage with the Last Shadow Puppets at Open’er Festival in Gdynia, Poland. Footage has finally surfaced of the impromptu Tame Impala tribute and you can check it out below.

Turner, bandmate Miles Kane, and co have been performing a cover of the David Bowie classic ‘Moonage Daydream’ to honour the late rock legend, but turned it into a Parker tribute at Open’er Festival after Turner noticed the dark clouds in the sky.

Following the Bowie cover, Turner improvised a new song, singing, “There’s a storm brewing… there’s a storm brewing in the form of Tame Impala,” proceeding to sing it for the next several minutes.

“Kevin Parker controls the weather system around here,” Turner eventually added. Meanwhile, Tame Impala played their own acclaimed set at Open’er despite frontman Parker feeling “sick as a dog”.

Parker spooked quite a few fans when he took to Instagram to share an image of him in an oxygen mask being tended to by Open’er Festival medical staff. However, it seems Parker healed up quick and put on a killer show.
