‘Maths And Engineering’ is a gorgeous piece from Brisbane duo ROI, its narrative patiently revealing itself and building tension throughout a raw, foreboding lyric delivered by Steven Ryan of Good Oak.

The music was written first in a single take, built over a looping bass riff, perfectly befitting the stream-of-thought lyrical style. The video accompaniment only serves to deepen a connection already felt through the slightest vocal cracks as the story develops (“but I knew I had to pay my respects”).

The track is taken from their recently-released debut album, August City.
