Mastering an instrument takes a lot of hard work and many hours of practice. If Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers is anything to go by, you’re going to need to hammer away at your chosen instrument for 10,000 hours before you can call yourself a master.

But YouTuber WayOutWest isn’t about that life. He wasn’t born with a natural aptitude for the guitar, but he does seem to be remarkably good at building insane contraptions out of wood and metal and he’s now put the two together in a new deice called the Chordelia.

As Gizmodo reprots, the Chordelia is basically a system of fingers that are triggered by levers pressed by a guitar player that doesn’t feel like making chords themselves. Need an Am? Just press the Am lever on the Chordelia and strum away.

The Chordelia is only able to produce five chords — G, D, C, A minor, and E minor — but that’s basically all you need to play most pop songs anyways. However, one Chordelia will set you back about $343, so maybe it’s worth it to just sit down and practice?
