Slim Jeffries have just finished up a residency at the Evelyn, and they recorded the final show for us to give everyone who missed it a first taste of their five-piece hip hop/punk hybrid.

At times almost reminiscent of a warped Australian version of Rage Against The Machine, at others a little like The Clash, they mix sharp vocals with wandering jazz basslines, psych fuzz and even elements of prog rock to create something pretty damn unique.

We reckon this would have been a pretty fun gig, their vocalist – known only as Dingo – definitely bringing the vocal chops and killer presence to keep the energy at a peak all the way through. Slim Jeffries will be dropping an EP sometime this year, and if they can capture this raw energy in a studio setting, it could end up being something pretty special.
