Melbourne is famous for its spectacular displays of street art. The CBD’s iconic Hosier Lane is a point of pride for all Melburnians, as it serves as a sort of rotating canvas of the best street art the city has to offer.

The latest addition to that canvas comes courtesy of Lushsux, a local who’s perhaps most famous for putting up the controversial naked Kim Kardashian mural back in March and for hosting an art show inside the disabled toilets at the NGV.

Now, Lushsux has completed a loving tribute to the late Taylor Swift. Or more specifically, ‘Taylor Smith’, done presumably to avoid the pop sensation’s famously brand-conscious and litigious PR team.

“The recent passing of Taylor Swift is heart wrenching,” Lushsux writes. “Come and leave some flowers and light some candles at her memorial in Hosier lane in honour of her memory. If you do please DM photos of you doing it.”

“Please pay your respects at Hosier Lane today by laying flowers or lighting a candle in mourning, taken from us too soon sweet princess.” Yeah, we know, Taylor Swift isn’t dead. Still, you should get down there and take a selfie before someone defaces it.
