Hunters & Collectors no longer want to be associated with 2GB radio presenter Steve Price and who could really blame them?

As The Age reports, they’ve requested Price no longer use their iconic song ‘Holy Grail’ at the beginning of his radio show.

The move was motivated by comments Price made during a recent appearance on Q&A, during which he called columnist Van Badham “hysterical”.

Van Badham was in the midst of a discussion regarding violence against women and the case of Fairfax journalist Caroline Wilson and Eddie McGuire.

Price later appeared on The Project where he is often a panelist and claimed he was “ambushed” and does not regret what he said.

“I’m not going to be verballed by an aggressive woman sitting next to me who thinks you can only be upset by domestic violence if you’re female,” he said.

Following this, The Age reports, 2GB was contacted by Hunters & Collectors, who requested their song no longer be associated with Price’s show.

“They acknowledged they didn’t have the right to, but asked would [Steve] remove the song from the show,” Macquarie Media COO Adam Lang said.

“He was not forced to do that. Steve really likes the band and he respected their wishes.” Lang said the band did not give a reason for wanting their song removed.

Though considering the fact that Price had used ‘Holy Grail’ as his theme for years and the band all of a sudden wanted him to stop, it’s easy to put two and two together.
