After having an absolutely mammoth year with a lineup featuring Grimes, Flume, Violent Soho, and more, it looks like the first act set for St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2017 has just been (accidentally) revealed.

British singer Nao has been garnering some serious buzz in recent months, coming to wider attention after she was selected as part of the BBC’s prestigious Sound of 2016 poll, with a debut album on the horizon.

Speaking recently to the BRAG, Nao let it slip that she’s been approached to play Laneway. “I think that I’ve been asked to do Laneway Festival in Australia, and that is really exciting for me,” she said.

“My band and I never thought we’d get this far, to be touring or have the opportunity to come out to Australia,” she continued, “and I’ve just got to find the money, but I think we’ll be coming out in January.”

Whilst the apparent leak obviously hasn’t been confirmed by Laneway officials, it looks like the only thing standing between the British singer and the Laneway stage is money for a plane ticket.
