Jane’s Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza co-founder Perry Farrell recently noted that he often cringes at his own festival because of the presence of over-hyped EDM pseudo-DJs. The singer claimed the genre makes him want to vomit.

But there was nothing cringeworthy about his own set at the iconic Chicago festival over the weekend. Jane’s Addiction put on a powerhouse performance that also featured a number of very special guests.

Footage has surfaced online of Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who’s currently busying himself with his Prophets of Rage project, joining Jane’s Addiction on stage for a rendition of ‘Mountain Song’.

As Rolling Stone notes, Morello is a huge Jane’s Addiction fan, citing the band as the reason he stayed in Los Angeles to pursue music following the break up of his first band and later inducting them into Guitar Center Hollywood’s Rock Walk.

However, Morello wasn’t the only alternative rock icon to make an appearance during Jane’s Addiction’s Lollapalooza set. The band also got a helping hand from Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin on the classic ‘Jane Says’.
