Well, here’s something a little bit different! We’re happy to bring you the new single from veggie-themed outfit Formidable Vegetable Sound System, titled ‘Kimchi’.

For those of you out there with kids who aren’t quite old enough to make it to The Wiggles’ 18+ gigs, these guys are a very good alternative, combining cheeky lyrics about the virtues of various healthy foods with some downright infectious melodies.

Rather than sticking to the bland old hot potato, ‘Kimchi’ instead introduces the tackers to Korean cuisine via a delightful swing instrumental and instructional vocals, and features the talents of Charlie Mgee, Mal Webb (Lano and Woodley), and even drumming from one Michael Barker (John Butler Trio/The Black Sorrows).

This is the first taste (ahem) of their upcoming album Grow Do It!, out August 9, and you can catch the band as they head out on tour this September in their vege-oil powered van, dates below.

Any band that can help to introduce kids to interesting food and long words, and make sweet tracks like this at the same time, is alright in our book!
