Nine Inch Nails look set to release a new single in September, with a possible new album to follow. The band’s last album was 2013’s Hesitation Marks, after which NIN chief Trent Reznor began focusing on his budding film scoring career.

However, it looks like Reznor is getting the one-man-band back together. As Consequence of Sound reports, a reddit user claiming to “work in the music industry” has leaked an image suggesting a new NIN single entitled ‘Dive and Slam’ is set to drop in September.

The image is purportedly a screenshot of Kobalt Music Group’s internal database, which lists ‘Dive and Slam’ as set for release on 16th September via Columbia Records. The track has a running time of 4:35 and is registered with ASCAP (the US version of APRA).

However, Reznor made his first appearance on Twitter to apparently rubbish the industry insider’s screenshot, simply tweeting “Not true.” However, the NIN frontman made no reference to the reddit post, which has since been updated to state that Not True is in fact the title of the new NIN album.

Reznor had previously stated that Nine Inch Nails would reactivate in 2016 and has been known to employ unique viral release campaigns for his albums, such as for 2007’s Year Zero, whose campaign involved fans deciphering data on a USB stick left at a Portugal concert.
