Australia’s favourite rock and rollers Airbourne have officially returned and they’re about to take another mighty album off its leash and send it barking into the world, followed by a rapid-fire string of East Coast tour dates.

Breakin’ Outta Hell is Airbourne’s eagerly anticipated fourth studio album. Produced by Bob Marlette and engineered and mixed by Mike Fraser, the follow-up to 2013’s Black Dog Barking is set for release on 23rd September.

We’ve already had a hard-hitting taste of the new album in the form of the title track, which serves as the album’s first single. It’s another slice of the rabid, quintessentially Australian rock and roll we’ve come to expect from Airbourne.

“We get a lot of feedback from our fans saying how much they love the faster tracks,” said Airbourne frontman Joel O’ Keeffe. “But when they play them in the car… well, it can be tough on their pocket with all the speeding fines!”

“‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’ is definitely one of THOSE numbers… even the guys who filmed the lyric video were stopped by the police and given a fine. For us, these visuals really sum up the feeling behind the song, and the album, too – the whole message is right there.”

“Put on the single, or the album, and it’s f**k the boss and f**k all the tax I owe. I’m going out, I’m getting pissed and I’m going to listen to some hard rock ‘n’ roll. No ballads, no bulls**t. I’m breaking out of hell!”

The band will celebrate the release of the new album by returning home for a trek up and down the East Coast, hitting up some of their favourite venues in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, as well as Canberra’s Summernats festival.
