Whether your style is avant-garde, blues, country, electronic, experimental, folk, funk, global, gospel, heavy, hip hop, indigenous, jazz, pop, reggae, rock, roots, or soul music, submissions are now open for The Age Music Victoria Awards 2016.

The Age Music Victoria Awards will celebrate its 11th year as one of the Australian music industry’s most coveted honours this November. A huge lineup of some of Victoria’s finest musical talent has already been announced for the official after party.

This year’s awards will fall within the Melbourne Music Week program, with the awards taking place earlier in the evening so punters and industry pundits alike can make their way down to the massive after party.

The after party will feature live performances from the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Camp Cope, and Tash Sultana, as well as members of the RockWiz Band being joined by The EG AllStars, Paul Dempsey, Remi, Gareth Liddiard, and many more.

Meanwhile, artists and bands are being invited to nominate themselves or an artist they believe deserves to be considered for The Awards. A select industry panel of experts specific to their category will then determine the final nominees.

If you’re an artist that is based in Victoria or living in Victoria for the last two years and you’ve released an EP or album between 1st October 2015 and 31st August 2016, you are eligible.

Submissions are now open and will remain open until 31st August 2016. Nominees will be announced Friday, 7th October.
