It’s official, the University of Melbourne  is now the coolest university in Australia.

Every Tuesday, Melbourne’s Student Union (UMSU) organise free live gigs, BBQs and occasionally free bevs!

In the first semester of 2016 UMSU organised bands such as Methyl Ethel, Jakubi, The Beards, and Totally Mild, and with semester two promising bands such as British India, The Smith Street Band, Art vs Science, and The Griswolds – Melbourne University’s Student Union is without a doubt the coolest in the country.

In fact, The Smith Street Band played earlier this afternoon in front of approximately 150 students.

University of Melbourne student, Adam said “instead of just wandering around or not taking a break at all, you get a break where you can go with friends to see a really cool band.”

“It really helps me get through the day knowing I’ve got a band to look forward to,” Adam said.

You don’t even have to be enrolled at Melbourne University to see these bands. They play every Tuesday and most Mondays from 1-2pm at North Court at the University’s Parkville Campus.
