Speak Up is the new album from triple j Unearthed winners Alex The Kid, a five-piece punk rock outfit hailing from the remote city of Geraldton, WA.

Following in the footsteps of WA’s flourishing guitar scene, the band impressed with their recent One Night Stand-winning track ‘Vinyls’, and raucous follow-up ‘Skate Or Lie’. Produced by Boston engineer Dan Florez, the record delivers a slew of similarly-energetic punk anthems, tearing through 13 tracks of shouty vocal interplay and searing guitar melodies.

Having formed back in 2011, ATK have no doubt been sitting on some of these tracks for a while now, and each song packs the brutal urgency of a caged animal finally being released. It’ll all come to a head at the free Geraldton album launch on October 8, where the guys will also be filming footage for an upcoming video clip.

Speak Up is out this Friday August 19 on Adelaide punk label Pee Records.
