One day after we received word that Dune Rats have finished recording some new tunes, tour buddies DZ Deathrays have announced their new single is all done.

Speaking with Canada’s National Post, drummer Simon Ridley let slip that they’ve recorded a new single in their downtime.

When asked about the prospect of new music, Ridley said that “we actually recorded a new song in Montreal the other day. Our producer lives there, so we were lucky enough to get some time with him and we recorded a song that should be our next single”.

He clarified though, that there won’t be a drastic change in the works for the band: “We haven’t really departed from our sound or anything. We’re not reinventing the wheel – just making it turn faster.”

Even though their mind-blowing with Violent Soho and Dune Rats wrapped up a few months ago now, fans are no doubt highly anticipating new recorded material from both bands. Here’s hoping the wait won’t be much longer.

DZ Deathrays’ most recent track ‘Blood On My Leather’ was released back in May. Give this one a listen to tide you over until the new tracks are done.
