We already know that Die Antwoord have candy, considering they just started selling, among other things, weed lollipops.

Now, the South African ‘Zef’ group have released ‘We Have Candy’, a ridiculous track taken from their upcoming record Mt Ninji And Da Nice Time Kid.

The whole affair is one of their weirdest stunts yet, transplanting their abrasive rapid-fire rap into the midst of a bizarre opera about weed and coffee, and the resulting “dark powers” that apparently come from their consumption. Spoken-word interludes do very little to explain the storyline behind this theatrical number, either.

It’s certainly not the group’s strongest work by a wide margin, and the schtick wears pretty thin by the time Yolandi squeals, “Sometimes I get sad and I cut myself… a piece of cake!”

However, if this is your particular flavour of jacked-up rap opera nightmare, you can order the album now for September 16.
