Creative Victoria has announced the 11 artists who will be receiving a $60k grant to share between them, including such notable names as heavy metal crew King Parrot, buzzed-about up-and-comer Alex Lahey, and hard rock favourites Dallas Frasca.

The grant aims to help Victorian musicians to seize opportunities as they come, such as US and European tours, as well as helping them attend BIGSOUND, Australia’s leading conference for local acts to attract the attention of national and international industry stakeholders.

These lucky musicians include Tinpan Orange, who received $4,000 for their BIGSOUND showcase and networking opportunities; Teeth & Tongue, who received $2,900 for her BIGSOUND showcase and networking opportunities; and Ali Barter, who nabbed $7,000 to fund Australian support tours.
