It’s been almost 30 years since the Pixies changed the course of alternative music and six years since they last visited Australian shores, but they’re now set to return as part of their Head Carrier world tour.

Considered one of the most influential and important bands of the alt-rock movement, the Pixies have one of the most celebrated discographies in rock music and have influenced everyone from Radiohead and PJ Harvey to Nirvana.

The band previously visited Down Under to headline 2007’s inaugural V Festival and played 13 incredible shows during their sold-out Doolittle tour in 2010, which saw them playing the iconic album to crowds in full.

This trek will see the band, together with new bassist Paz Lenchantin (Zwan, A Perfect Circle), touring up the East Coast to celebrate the release of their forthcoming new album, the eagerly anticipated Head Carrier.
