UK singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist PJ Harvey announced her first Australian tour dates since 2012 yesterday. PJ fans around the country jumped for joy at the prospect of one of UK alternative music’s finest songwriters returning Down Under.

PJ herself may have even seen some of them, because she was in the country, hitting up a local Melbourne record store with her good friends Mick Harvey, who’s collaborated extensively with Harvey, and Bruce Milne, founder of legendary Aussie label Au Go Go Records.

“Whoa .. Look who just dropped down … Beautiful PJ Harvey with Mick Harvey and Bruce,” the brass at Greville Records, a much-loved brick-and-mortar record store located just off Chapel Street in Prahran, took to Facebook to write.

Harvey’s January tour dates, which you can check below, will mark the first time she’s visited Australia since 2012, when she promoted Let England Shake. The album was regarded by many as one of Harvey’s best and it topped several end-of-year lists.

This tour will see Harvey playing shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, taking on grand venues such as the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the Tivoli Theatre, and the Fremantle Arts Centre. Check below for more details.
