King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have confirmed Gizzfest, the touring mini-festival they debuted last year to christen their Quarters LP, will make its triumphant return this year, hot on the heels of their latest album Nonagon Infinity.

Gizzfest 2015 saw the prolific Melbourne psychedelic crew bring a stacked mini-festival lineup to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane, with names like Drunk Mums, Destrends, Davey Lane, The Murlocs, Mangelwurzel, and more.

Last time around, the band urged fans to “expect the best kind of chaos” and that’s precisely what they gave us. One of the Tone Deaf team was lucky enough to be there at the multi-stage spectacle held at Melbourne’s iconic Corner Hotel.

“It was mayhem in the moshpit, with crowd surfing like I’ve never experienced,” Sean A’Hearn wrote for Tone Deaf last year. “At this point the band decided to slow things down and play their first single from the new record, ‘River’.”

“Another extended jam, the song truly showcases KG’s diversity and growth as a band. A talented group of musicians, it is truly Stu that is their singing, screaming, mic swallowing, guitar shredding leader and he has such a charismatic presence that you can’t turn away from.”

There’s no further details at the moment, but make sure you stay tuned to Tone Deaf and we’ll have all the dates and lineup details for Gizzfest 2017 as soon as they are released.
