We recently premiered ‘Run Around’, a lovely new track from Melbourne folk artist Anna Cordell, and were quite taken with it. Now, she’s followed it up with a bleak video accompaniment to her haunting tale of internal struggle.

A student of music and theory from an early age, Anna took time off from making music to concentrate on other things – namely, raising four girls – and has only recently reemerged as a recording artist. We’re very glad she has, as she’s making some of the most arresting and contemplative folk music we’ve heard this year, gorgeous layers of strings underpinning a voice that gently draws you into its sombre depths.

Anna will be supporting the legendary Archie Roach in September, You can keep an eye on Cordell’s Facebook page for more tour details and to follow along as she prepares her debut album for release next year.
