Dune Rats have been cooking up something for a while now. The Brisbane wild cards have been busy on social media sharing photos of themselves bunkered down in a Melbourne recording studio with good mate Zac Carper of FIDLAR.

Carper was behind the mixing board for the Dunies last single, the raucous ‘Bulls**t’, which dropped just ahead of the band’s appearance on Violent Soho’s immense WACO tour, during which ‘Bulls**t’ was a staple of their set.

Carper, with whom the trio toured when they supported FIDLAR in the US, took the boys from recording sessions staged inside an RV en route to Joshua Tree, California to a Melbourne studio where the latest stash of new Dunies gear was cooked up.

Now Dunies have returned to Instagram to proclaim that their new record is “finished and sick”. According to triple j’s 2016 Aussie Release Schedule, a new EP is scheduled for release some time this year via Warner and the band’s own Ratbag Records.

“Clocking back in to the studio with Zac in Melbourne! Racking up some overtime for some high quality shit out soon,” the band previously wrote on Instagram, not long after they revealed they’d shared writing sessions with touring buddies DZ Deathrays.

SUPER STOKED! IT'S FINISHED AND SICK
