Australian power duo Venus II, comprised of Jarrad Brown from Eagle & The Worm/Dorsal Fins and Ryan Grieve of Canyons, have released a new music video – and it’s visually stunning.

The song ‘I Want U 4 Myself’ is eerily haunting to begin with, but when coupled with a video that looks like it’s straight out of Sophia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, it becomes a real piece of art.

Shot by Young Black Youth, and partly filmed in the same South Australian locations as the iconic Aussie flick Picnic At Hanging Rock, every painterly scene looks like it could be frozen and framed.

‘I Want U 4 Myself’ is taken from Venus II’s recently-released debut record, Inside Your Sun, which was premiered on Tone Deaf and was one of our records of the week. We also premiered its title track in June, and were immediately impressed.

If you haven’t seen Venus II live yet (and you really should) don’t stress – you can catch them at the Newtown Social Club this Saturday 17th September, supporting another excellent duo in GL.
