Lots of people love to talk about how transcendent Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 classic 2001: A Space Odyssey is to watch when stoned. It’s hardly surprising, especially considering the film’s groundbreaking and trippy Star-Gate sequence.

Likewise, Australian outfit Tame Impala no doubt have a fan or two who enjoy their music whilst imbibing some mind-altering substance or another. You may have even experienced a Tame Impala album or performance in this manner yourself.

So what would happen if one were to put the two together? In short: absolute genius. YouTube user Seniorchang apparently knows his way around an editing suite, because he’s done an incredible job of cutting the end sequence of 2001 with Tame Impala’s ‘Eventually’.

He’s had a little practice, having previously cut together scenes from A Clockwork Orange and Ariel Pink’s ‘Not Enough Violence’. We’re guessing he has a thing for Stanley Kubrick films and indie rock – just a hunch.
