Don’t sleep on memes, they can really do a lot for your career. Just ask Shannon Noll, who went from being the silver medalist on Australian Idol, to prominent Aussie pop star, to forgotten Aussie pop star, to internet joke, to… well, he’s got a new album coming out.

As we’ve previously noted, Nollsie recently minted a new record contract and has an album set to drop some time next year. After teasing a big announcement this morning, Nollsie has now unveiled his brand new single, ‘Who I Am’, which comes complete with its own lyric video.

You can check out the video below, which is admittedly low rent. In fact, it’s so low rent if we didn’t know any better we’d say Nollsie is in on the joke and intentionally made a bad video for everyone to laugh at and spread around the internet. But are we that cynical?

Yes, we are. As for the song, Nollsie says, “It’s a joyful song that is all about being yourself and doing the things that make you happy.” You can check out ‘Who I Am’ in all of its splendour below. The track will be officially released on 30th September.
