Melbourne alt-folk artist Delsinki Records (Craig Johnston) and vocalist Brooke Taylor continue an impressive run of video clips with ‘Winter (From The Ashes)’, the final track from their Love One EP.

Previous tracks have followed a seasonal theme, and the theatrical duet ‘Winter’ is no different. A stark militaristic dirge, its mood is matched by the cold blue tones of the accompanying visuals, featuring dancers Maggie Rogers, Veronica Waite and Wally Howlett painted in vibrant hues.

Brooke and Craig lay down powerful intertwining lead vocals, while Trumpeter Ted Kazan of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra imbues the track with forlorn tones, bringing the EP to a sombre close in comparison to the sounds of seasons past.

“The aim with Winter, as it’s the ending, was to make it sound like a funeral procession; that kind of vibe,” says Taylor. “The death of the relationship as it were.”

The videos will be played alongside the live performances when Delsinki Records and Brooke Taylor take the project on tour across Victoria in October and November, dates below, while the record is available now.
