Just over a month after they dropped ‘Hardwired’, the first taste of their forthcoming new album, Metallica have returned with yet another cut from Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, an eclectic number entitled ‘Moth Into Flame’.

The tune was premiered during the band’s most recent visit to The Howard Stern Show, with the thrash legends subsequently sharing the Tom Kirk-directed music video via their official website. You can check it out in the embed below.

The track starts off sounding like classic, Master of Puppets-era Metallica, but takes quite a turn during the chorus. Kirk Hammett injects the track with a prominent, almost power metal-sounding guitar lead and the chorus features some novel harmonies.

Naturally, opinion is already divided on the track, but we highly encourage you to make up your own mind (we know you will). Hardwired… To Self-Destruct will be officially available from Friday, 18th November.
