Alex Lahey has taken time out of her busy schedule of being one of the most talked about names in the Aussie music scene right now to help a young sales assistant and uni student find love.

Taking to Facebook, the singer-songwriter shared a screenshot of 24-year-old Matt’s Tinder profile, which included a line from Lahey’s single ‘You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me’.

All I want is to have cleanskin wine and watch Mulholland Drive with you“, Lahey sings on the tune. She’s now quoted as such on young Matt’s Tinder profile.

“Hope that bio is working out a treat for you, Matt,” Lahey wrote, before offering to help Matt out by setting him up with a primo date once he actually finds that special someone.

“Hey Matt – drop me a line and I’ll make sure you and your Tinder date are on the door for my next Melb show on 8 Oct,” Lahey wrote. “Ur grl Al has got your back.”

Lahey, a triple j Unearthed prize winner and the recipient of the Josh Pyke partnership and mentorship, recently made headlines after she hit back at media outlets who constantly compare her to fellow Aussie muso Courtney Barnett as ‘sexist and lazy’.

“I’m a huge fan of Courtney I think she’s one of the best songwriters in the world,” she said. “I’m humbled to be compared to that. But I don’t think that it’s accurate, especially from a musical perspective, we play very different types of music.”
