You know the deal with Byron Bay Bluesfest: just when you think their lineup can’t get any more huge, they find a way of making it just that much bigger, even when there’s still months ago until the actual festival kicks off.

Having just announced the iconic Neil Young mere days ago, Bluesfest organisers are already back at it again. They’ve just added the legendary likes of the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb, who’s joining arguably Bluesfest’s biggest lineup ever.

“I am beyond pleased to be adding Barry Gibb to our 2017 Bluesfest line up!” said Bluesfest founder Peter Noble. “Barry Gibb – the lead songwriter of The Bee Gees – a band we can be so proud to call an Australian Legend!”

“Did you know that The Bee Gees formed in Redcliffe, a beachside suburb of Brisbane in 1958? Like many new Australians at the time, they were ’10 pound poms’ whose parents immigrated to Australia after the 2nd world war to start a new life!”

“The Bee Gees conquered the world, selling well over 220 million records, simply our highest selling band, over AC/DC with 200 million sales! Barry Gibb, the principal songwriter for the band, was involved in their 30 charting records over 5 decades. A record that will (probably) never be broken!”

Folks heading down to the iconic Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm this Easter were already set to be treated to performances from the likes of R&B legend Mary J Blige, punk rock icon Patti Smith, the immortal Buddy Guy, and the timeless
Jethro Tull.

Best of all, this is just the latest of many lineup announcements. There’s still plenty more acts to be announced in the upcoming months and organisers are once again promising a “five day Easter extravaganza” delivering 12 hours of music daily across multiple stages.
