Victorian guitar pop outfit Hollow Everdaze will finally be delivering to our doors their debut full-length record early next year, Still Ticking.

A first taste of that record has just been released in the title track, a development on the cinematic brand of laconic guitar pop that particularly impressed us on 2015’s dreamy ‘Last Laugh’. This time, things aren’t quite so breezy, as strings and guitar spar back and forth like fencers atop a heavy blanket of bass and chugging percussion to build a tense melancholy.

The track, and the remainder of the album, have been recorded by John Lee (Beaches, Lost Animal, The Ocean Party) and mastered by David Walker (NUN, Beaches, GOAT, Jen Cloher) at Stepford Audio, evidenced in a fullness to the production that sets it apart from their earlier work – and makes us very excited to hear what the rest of the album has in store.
