Anybody building a career in artist management: this one’s for you. Now in their fourth year, the Association of Artist Managers are a group who assist emerging managers with established and successful ones for 12-month mentorships – and if that sounds like you, you can enter now.

It’s a better time than ever, too, as the AAM are partnering with Melbourne’s yearly music conference Face The Music to deliver a host of new workshops and opportunities for 2016.

The successful mentees (let’s just call them ‘the winners’) score a pretty sweet setup. They’ll be flown to Melbourne from anywhere in Australia to meet their mentor and attend a day-long management workshop. They also get to attend The Age Music Victoria Awards, participate in the Face The Music conference, and nab three nights accommodation in Melbourne.

The real prize, though, is the wisdom you’ll get from your manager mentor. You’ll definitely be in good hands, with previous years including the following list of very successful names:

  • Danny Rogers from Lunatic Entertainment (The Temper Trap, Chvrches, Laneway Festival)
  • John Watson from Eleven Music (Birds of Tokyo, Child Chisel, Silverchair, Gotye)
  • Gregg Donovan from Wonderlick (Boy & Bear, Grinspoon, Josh Pyke)
  • Claire Collins from Bossy (Art vs. Science, D.D. Dumbo)
  • Andrew Stone from Chugg Music (Shepperd, Megan Washington, The Griswolds)
  • Greg Carey from Umbrella Music (The Rubens, Elizabeth Rose, Urthboy, PVT)
  • Dan Medland from i.e.:Music (Ladyhawke, Passenger, The Bamboos)

Applications for this one close 5pm Thursday, so if you think this might help you get a foot in the door, apply here.
