UPDATE: Dispossessed have launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to replace the gear stolen from them. You can donate via GoFundMe here.

Sydney band Dispossessed have had more than $5,000 worth of gear stolen from them following a performance in Sydney over the weekend. Guitarist Serwah Attafuah has taken to Facebook to ask fans to keep an eye out for anyone in the area with “black gear bags”.

Dispossessed, a band of Indigenous rights activists, have received acclaim as one of the most vital and important bands in Australia. Their fiery brand of metal and punk rock aims to promote resistance and educate Australians about justice and civil rights issues.

You can check out Attafuah’s full Facebook post below, which lists all of the equipment that was stolen in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville, “outside the Factory Theatre”, including a black Squier Telecaster and a Mexican Fender Jazzmaster Classic Player.

In a subsequent Facebook post, Attafuah voiced his anger at the thief who stole the equipment, writing, “You didn’t just steal my guitar, you stole my voice cunt.” Check below for the full list of stolen gear.
