Homegrown singing-songwriting talent Alex Lahey is the name on everybody’s lips right now. Why, you could even say she’s as popular as a Flaming Moe. Or maybe you wouldn’t, because that’s kind of a strange, obscure thing to say.

Though it might make perfect sense to anybody who’s already heard her contribution to a brand new punk rock cover of the iconic Flaming Moe’s song from The Simpsons. If you haven’t, check it out below, because it’s great.

Lahey lent her vocals to a series of punk rock covers of Simpsons songs being put together by Perth muso Dan Cribb. The series is entitled Worst Tribute Ever and there’ll be a new instalment featuring a special guest each month for a year.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve already got a wish list of upcoming covers. Quite frankly, we can’t wait for a cover of ‘We Put The Spring In Springfield’ or ‘See My Vest’ done in the style of Bad Religion or NOFX.
