When fans heard that Violent Soho would be doing triple j’s Like A Version this week, their imaginations immediately kicked into overdrive. Picture those scenes in the Fast & the Furious movies where they turn on the NOS, except less cheesy.

Everyone had an opinion on what they should be covering and in the end the boys went with a rendition of Silversun Pickups’s ‘Lazy Eye’. The boys nailed the cover, delivering a pitch perfect, Soho-fied rendition that sounded like a lost cut from their Hungry Ghost album.

One of the highlights of the cover, besides frontman Luke Boerdam’s deftly picked lead guitar work, was when guitarist James Tidswell used Nirvana’s most iconic moment to troll fans and j listeners – check it out below.
