The Whitlams are nothing short of a national treasure. With a discography of iconic songs that are a central part of the Australian experience for those of us who grew up in the ’90s, the band are about to celebrate 25 years together.

The Whitlams will mark the occasion with a national orchestral tour that will take them from April into May next year. They’ll be playing all of their beloved hits like ‘Blow Up the Pokies’, ‘No Aphrodisiac’, and ‘Thank You (For Loving Me At My Worst)’.

“It is an honour to play with these musicians who in some cases have been playing their instruments since they were in the womb,” said frontman Tim Freedman in a statement.

“I particularly look forward to hearing Peter Sculthorpe’s beautiful string interlude to my song ‘Out the Back’ for the fist time since he passed away two years ago. It never fails to send audiences into raptures.”
